Etching on cream wove. Dimensions: Image 17.5cm X 24.5cm (approx.), Sheet size: 24cm X 32cm (approx.). Signed in the plate, bottom left corner of image. Published by J.S. Virtue and Co. Title, medium, artist and publisher names printed in bottom margin.

Very good condition. Image surface excellent. Some time toning to the outer margins. In new conservation standard off white mount.

David Law, Scottish, 1831-1901. Born Edinburgh. A waterolour painter and etcher who specialised in landscapes and who was an active exhibitor, showing his work in major institutional art galleries in Britain and also at principal art societies. He was elected to membership of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1881and the Society of British Artists in 1884 becoming its Treasurer in 1887 during the Presidency of Whistler.
